Ever-lasting effects...
by: Darlene Barriere - Webmaster

You are so right when you say that child abuse has lasting effects on people. Your mother's behaviour as a teen was perfectly understandable.

Your mother and I are the same age, Jenny, so I can relate only too well to the lack of services and the willful disregard she grew up with. I sincerely hope your mother is in some form of counselling to help her deal with the emotional residue she continues to face every day. The fact that Jim, her sexual molester, is dying has probably reawakened much of the pain she was forced to endure at his hands. Her own mother (my god, her own mother) continues to call her a liar and denies that any sexual abuse took place, even in light of overwhelming evidence; the pain must be unbearable for her.

I thank you for sharing what your mother lived through, Jenny. I believe as you believe that telling her story will indeed help others on this site.

He's a Pedifile!
by: Linda

A man that has sex with a goat is the worse kind of molester! To molest a poor animal is one hideous and what he did to your family is unthinkable! Cancer is his punishment. You are a big person to forgive him, I wouldn't be able to do it! Have a blessed life sweetheart, and good luck to you and your family in your healing process.
