I agree that therapy can be grueling. I also know from person experience that therapy can lead to ultimate freedom. Just remember, Gerry, that everything you're discussing in your sessions is about the Past. You aren't actually living it, except in your mind. You are remembering what happened to you and allowing your Self to feel all the feelings you've buried, feelings that were buried in an effort to be out of pain. But in that burying, every aspect of your life is adversely affected. The anxiety you're feeling is to be expected...just remember that when you're relaying what happened to you and experiencing the emotions, the abuse isn't actually happening any longer. You ARE safe. Allow your Self to feel those emotions fully and completely, fearlessly. When you do, those emotions will let YOU go. Take good care of your Self during this time. Find things you love to do and do them with joy. Treat your Self better than anyone ever has. And nourish what needs nourishing; in other words, become the love that was so desperately missing from your life as a child. And always remember that Who You Really Are has nothing to do with your sexuality. Who You Really Are goes so much deeper than that. Who You Really Are is inside of you. I send you love, light and healing energy, Gerry. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.
