You most definitely were robbed of everything you could possibly have been robbed of as a child. You were cheated of having a childhood. You were abused by the very people in charge of protecting you, and you were both betrayed and abandoned by every person who's job was to ensure you were kept safe from harm. It's no surprise that you are now dealing with the repercussions of all that. Not all therapists are created equally. There are some that aren't worth the time, others that are. That was the case when I was in therapy; it saved my life. I hope the same for you, Estel. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.

therapists...?
by: My Two Cents

I wanted to ask, what did you want from therapy? Why do you think the therapists couldn't or wouldn't provide that?

I ask because this is an area I have considered doing my advanced training in, and I definitely want to be "helpful" and not make things worse for my clients.

Thank you!

Be well.

My Two Cents.

How dare they?
by: Anonymous

Estel, what your so-called mother and her slimy boyfriend did to you was pathetic and ungrateful. Shame on her for running away from you all the time when you tried to turn to her instead of protecting you from that sick beast! I am disgusted be her reactions towards that pervert raping you; I hate women who choose men over their own children because children should always come first. I hope that you're in a safe place now and that you will try counselling.
