What you remember and focus on each and every day must be re-framed. At 2 years old, your brother did not have the necessary understanding of what he was doing. No way, no how. Your grandmother was the adult who put your baby brother's life in danger. As for getting beaten, this was ALL on your parents. They didn't only allow L--- so much control, they were the abusers. This was all on your parents. They were abusive and neglectful. They put the power in L---'s hands; it's not uncommon for a young child to go with that power. Please seek out some form of therapy in order to help you deal with what you deal with each and every day. You may have been beaten hundred of times by your abusive father, but consider that you have put your Self through the same situation by remembering many thousands of times, which are many more times than the actual abuse. Dale, the body does not know the difference between an actual act of abuse and remembering the abuse. So please seek out the help you need. I send you love, light and healing energy. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.

The dignity you still deserve
by: Anonymous

First of all, my condolences to your baby brother; second of all, your story is a bit like mine. I, too, am considered a black sheep in my family and my parents would often let my older brother beat the tar out of me. Did the school even know about it? Did your teachers (and your classmates, too) even notice your bruises and scars all over you? Anyway, I hope you're in a really safe place now, that you try counselling. And I hope you talk to your wife about it and then try healing.

Black Sheep Of The Family (Continued)
by: Dale

My story was from the 50's and early 60's. Kids back then were beaten with the belt. I once called the police on my dad after he put stripes all over my body. When the police came and I showed him all the whelps all over me, he went to my dad and told him that I had called the police on him and that he should take me back into the house and give it to me again, then he left. Dad took his advice and beat me again.
