I understand your fear...
by: Darlene Barriere - Webmaster

Bailee, talk to a teacher or a school counsellor. If it's dangerous for you to use the phone at home, tell your counsellor and ask to use a phone at school so that you can safely speak with your mother, whom I gather does not have custody of you. Make sure she knows what your father is doing to you so that she can work at trying to keep you safe from any harm.

You don't deserve to be mistreated. You are NOT stupid or worthless. You are precious and worthy and lovable. You deserve dignity and respect. Your father has problems, because if he didn't have problems, he would see how great a daughter he really has in you. And he certainly would NEVER say anything like he doesn't need you. I suspect he's dealing with a great deal of pressure elsewhere in his life and he is out of control, lashing out at you. That is not an excuse for his mistreatment of you, Bailee; rather, it's an explanation. I urge you to contact Child Help at 1-800-4-A-CHILD (1-800-422-4453) in order to talk to someone about what you are dealing with. They are staffed 24/7 with professionally trained counsellors who will listen to you. They are not a reporting agency, although they can help you through the process of reporting if you decide to disclose any abuse.

While I thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me, what I really want is for you to be safe.
