I understand the fear you have: The number one reason victims don't tell is because they're afraid they won't be believed. But the longer you keep the secret, the more this will trouble you and affect every aspect of your life. The longer you stay silent, the longer this abuser will be able to continue to abuse. I suggest you contact one of the hotlines listed on my stories page, depending on where you live, in order to talk to someone confidentially. If you are in the USA, Child Help is the organization to contact. They can be reached at 1-800-4-A-CHILD (1-800-422-4453) They are staffed 24/7 with professionally trained counsellors who will listen to you. They are not a reporting agency, although they can help you through the process of reporting if you decide to disclose the abuse. Visit their website by copying & pasting the following URL into your browser: http://www.childhelp.org/get_help

You didn't deserve to be abused. You most definitely deserve help for the fact that you were. I send you love, light and healing energy. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.

Hi. I'm 13 too, well, just turned 13. I was molested from the ages of 2-4 by a day-care worker and my dad, then again at ages 10 and 11 by my cousin's 15 y/o friend.
I hide it too because I just feel so ashamed and dirty and I know if I tell my mum about my dad abusing me, it'll break up the whole family and I don't want to be the cause of that and I'm scared people won't believe me, but I advice you to at least tell your parents that you need to see a counselor, then you can tell the counselor. I tried it and it felt like a weight had been lifted off. The counselor's aren't allowed to tell anybody (unless they work as a team with the other counselors in the clinic, then they only tell the other counselors) but I really hope you do this because the pressure got to me so much that I attempted suicide twice, I cut myself, etc. and I've been diagnosed with Major Depression, PTSD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Social Anxiety Disorder. You don't want to end up like me, so please seek help.
