Such strength...
by: Darlene Barriere - Webmaster

You are an amazingly strong young woman to have been able to make such positive and healthy choices for yourself during such times of adversity. I hope you know that about yourself.

Your mother made her choices; but the choices she has made are not your responsibility. You can only be accountable for your own actions. Whether or not she was being--IS being--abused by Greg, matters not. Her job as your mother was to protect you and keep you safe from harm. Instead, she let you down and enabled the abuse to continue. She is every bit as responsible for the abuse you suffered as Greg is. You HAD to draw a line in the sand. Be very proud of your strength of character, and continue to make choices that will further you along the path of healing and recovery. You are definitely worth it!

Thanks for writing, I am glad to hear you are doing better these days and I am sorry for the loss of your mom. My family doesn't want to deal with my story either and that is what I am trying to come to terms with now myself. I wish you heaven.

I can't believe that happened!

I am sooooooo sorry that you had to go through with something like that! If that ever happened to me I would be traumatized for my whole life, but you were strong.
