Thankfully you told someone...
by: Darlene Barriere - Webmaster

You have a very good friend, Angelica. She made sure you were kept safe from that child molester. Yes, what you endured were "heinous crimes", but that doesn't mean you can't move on with your life. You CAN move on with your life; but you need a great deal of help doing that.

Talk to your mother about what you are feeling and experiencing. Tell her you are depressed and having a difficult time with all the memories of what happened to you. And if you can't talk to your mother, then speak with your school counsellor, or some other trusted adult. You need access to a professional to help you with all of this. You don't have to live this way, Angelica. There are people out there who want to help, but you must reach out to them.

Consider contacting Child Help at 1-800-4-A-CHILD (1-800-422-4453) in order to talk to someone about what you endured and how you are now feeling. They are staffed 24/7 with professionally trained counsellors who will listen to you. And right now, you need someone to listen to you. You deserve that. You certainly didn't deserve to be sexually abused. I hope you know and understand that none of what happened to you was your fault; this perverted man is a sex offender. Get the support you need in order to live the life you were intended to live.

Being abused does not mean that you can't rise above it. I know...that's easier said than done, and right now it doesn't seem possible. The horrible memories and realizations are haunting you. But it IS possible, Angelica. Please ask your mother and your school counsellor for the professional help you so desperately need, because that sex offender isn't worth one more minute of your precious time and energy. He isn't worth one more second of your potential. And you are FULL of potential, Angelica; believe it, because it's TRUE!

Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.

Angelica, i am so sorry this tragic event happened to you. I am very happy the scumbag was caught. I'm sorry you haven't been able to trust a male and hate your life. Just remember the world isn't filled with men like the one who hurt you. You should try to enjoy life a little more. You seem like a good person who has just been hurt. After all you've been through, you deserve to enjoy life. Always keep your head and think positive.
