I'm delighted than you are no longer having to deal with your sex offender of a father, and that you've felt safe enough to tell about what he did to you. Whatever you do, do not ever blame yourself. What happened to you was as a result of a pedophile who had all the power, a pedophile who took advantage of your vulnerabilities, including your belief in God. You didn't tell because you believed your father, and you were afraid on so many levels. He knew that and took advantage of that. I hope you'll consider some form of counseling in order to help you deal with the repercussions. You deserve that kind of help. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.

You were so brave...
by: Anonymous

Your stepfather was really sick and horrible to want to do that to anyone, never mind a child who's also his own stepdaughter! Remember that it wasn't your fault, it was HIS fault for doing that to you. You deserved so much better.

You were so brave and strong to stand up for yourself and try to make him stop, Amber. That took a lot of courage, and you should be proud of yourself. You should consider counseling to help you deel with the trauma of being sexually abused by your stepfather.
