You've clearly shown how child abuse has lasting effects. I'm proud of you for contacting a therapist. It will be hard work, harder than you might know right now, but it will be worth it. You and your kids are worth it. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.

 The effests of abuse can ruin a persons life if they let it.

It could be Alice 2 reading your story makes me very angry all your life you have lived with the effects of your Fathers abuse on you, the one you loved and trusted to get married too took advantage of how you were hurting from thoses efffests on you in your innocent and tender years. I was powerless as all children/teenagers/young adults are at the hands of perpetrators of abuse on them. There is little or no justice when it comes to putting them out of sight out of mind. I have my own ways of dealing with them but we have to respect that the Society we live to deals with them eventually. We suffer and are effected for years after. Alice please stay with your Therapist. Darlene knows the pain you will go through, she is your hero to look up towhen she tell you to stay with it. She was the winner after it, now see the great love she is showing to you and all of her visitors advising them because she can emphatise with each one personally. She's the winner over abuse and you can say I will too. thank you Darlene. Yourself with your Children will be the winners too. It ain't easy Alice. I know you will love yourself and respect your own dignity to be a winner over abuse. Take one day at a time. I am sure in your duristiction there are safe house's for you and your children to be safe. Your husaband their Father won't change until the Law tell him to cop on. I am sure too you have family and friends who love and believe in you to to stand by you. Trust them, Keep with the Therapist You'll be fine. Darlene knows best, she has a woman's heart for you in her comment.
