No more secrets...
by: Darlene Barriere - Webmaster

Alice, I'm so glad that you have a close relationship with your brother. Relationships such as these can truly be helpful in getting through some of the most difficult times. We all need a support system.

But Alice, as close as you are to your brother, you need to confide in a trusted adult about the sexual assaults that have happened to you. Don't keep what has happened to you a secret for one more second. If you can't talk to your mother, consider speaking with a teacher or a counsellor at school. Better yet, contact Child Help at 1-800-4-A-CHILD (1-800-422-4453). They are staffed 24/7 with professionally trained counsellors who will listen to you. Although they are not a reporting agency, they can help you through the process of reporting if you decide to disclose the sexual abuse you've had to endure.
