Your life has just begun. I know it doesn't seem like that right now, but it's true. You need to believe in yourself. After all, you've already survived the worst of it. Counseling CAN help, but you must go into it with the intent of opening up and being honest about your emotions, otherwise it won't work. Therapy IS work. Grueling work. But it's worth it. I didn't like it either...until I realized it was all up to me. As long as I shut down, I didn't make progress. Once I opened up, progress came in leaps and bounds. I hope the same for you. And you need that now more than ever, because being co-dependent on your boyfriend will only create more problems for you in the future. Please stay in counseling and make the necessary efforts to make it work for you. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.

don't give up hope
by: Anonymous

You must love yourself first then the rest will follow. I'm sorry you were treated so poorly from family and others. I've been through it to, but I got help and I began to read alot, about self love and being strong. It does not happen over night, it's like researching something for school, try to find ways to be strong and develop a thick skin. You're a smart person, make good choices, you have the power to make any choice you want. call the hotline from this website, talk to a professional, get advice. Don't give up hope!!
