"Speak up, save your soul..."

Your message is an excellent one, Abbey. Telling someone you trust about abuse, whether it is child abuse or relationship violence, which is what you suffered at the hands of Bronson, is one of the most positive decisions a person can make. You made that decision, Abbey; you should be very proud of yourself for that.

I believe that some form of counselling would be beneficial for you. A counsellor can help you deal with the emotional residue left over from witnessing such horrible abuse against your sister at the hands of your father. He or she can help you learn to set boundaries and teach you how to make healthy relationship choices in the future.

Just a note about my edits: Privacy issues prevent me from allowing the use of other people's full names. I either changed those to read only first names, or removed reference to them. I also removed the names of places for the same reason. I'm sure you understand.

Thank you for sharing your story, Abbey. I wish you all the best.
