You were betrayed in the worse ways, by your mother's brother AND by the rest of your family. I agree with you: they WERE more concerned about him than you. That is so typical of families. But it leaves the child at further risk and left to their own devices to cope. So wrong, Jessica, so wrong. Please consider some form of counseling in order to help you deal with the betrayals and the repercussions of the abuse. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.

Jessica, much easier said than done, but there is truth in the fact: You relieved yourself of the burden of carrying all that pain, hurt, self blame, from what that beast/animal put you through and who is still reminding you and making you fearful to get help and tell on him: Your family betrayed you, let you down so that is why I say your happiness in life is in your own hands: I am sure you have a real friend or two whom you can off-load all you have written here on Darlene safe-haven site: Her comment to you is a woman's heart comment, honest, truthful, professional and will be helpful if you take her loving, caring concerned words to your heart and begin to act and get real help for yourself: You are special, you deserve to be listened to and respected: Your self-worth and dignity need to be valued and listened to: Please Always believe in yourself: I will: I can: I must because I am WORTH it:
