I understand your frustration. It is innate in children to want to be with their parent(s). That fact will always give the upper hand to abusers. And she's just as much an abuser as the man who's abusing her. She's sick, and her son is paying the ultimate price. Continue to be a support for this boy if at all possible. You will be helping him in ways you cannot measure. Thank you for sharing with my visitors and me.

Nan-Silenced by Fear

You are right about the system which leaves children at the mercy of God, rather than the people who are legally obligated to protect them. It does not shock me that police departments are quick to pass the abuse child off on to another agency- they don't want to be viewed as baby sitters.

But the agency that police pass a child off to is beyond comprehension. When dealing with Child Protective Services I have always been met with "we just don't have the resources- do you relize the case loads we have to deal with?" Do they realize how many children are missing- how many are buried all over the countryside- how many might still be alive and living in hell on earth? The answer is yes they do.

Then the court system is a bag of tricks nobody can explain. Prosecutors don't want to deal with abuse due to its very nature- social stigma rubs off and it loses votes. Judges don't want to seperate families- until they have to sentence the mother, father, or both to prison for killing a child.

What I have found, is you go outside of the box. Contact an elected official- a governor, or congressman. Be diplomatic, tactful, but firm in demanding something be done. And make sue they follow-up with you on the complaint. Police, CPS workers, prosecutors, and judges don't like being pressured by the greater authority, but they will get something done just to get out from under the heat.

Bad Parents are demons in flesh-disguises

I don't like child abuse at all. I watched a video of child abuse about a sweet innocent girl on youtube that was her story:
Kelsey Briggs lost her life before the age of three due to Child Abuse.

It is a Tragic story. i saw it on youtube and the last picture of lance, kelsey's father standing to her grave when he returned from iraq made my heart sink...His soldier was gone. But we will always remember Kelsey.

Kelsey Briggs (December 28, 2002-October 11, 2005)

From Darlene - Webmaster: Yes, and Kelsey's story is on this site, as well as the law that was passed in Oklahoma as a result of her death.

A nan's heart with love and protection for a child:
by: maurice

My heart goes out to many grand-parents who are caught in a dilema: Love for their Grand children: knowing in a number of cases like this one that this child lives in fear of the ones who should love him and cherish him: To you Nan: don't give up hope: The LOVE you have for your grand-child will win through all the abuse of the people in authority who are there to protect such chidren as your grand-child: stay figting for his rights: keep him in education: you are the best:
