Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me, Rahuda. Growing up in a family who rejects your birth gender and forces you into something you aren't is so confusing to a child. Add to that, all the violence by BOTH your father and mother, the inner scars must be very deep.

Try to focus on what you know to be true about yourself. I know you're confused, but inside of you, you know what is true. And then focus on nurturing that lovely part of you. There is nothing you can do to change the way your parents or sisters are toward you, but you CAN do for yourself what was never available to you with them.

I send you love and heartfelt healing energy.

You are loved by those who know

I too was targeted by my parents for not being born a boy. My father told me many times that if I had been born a BOY it would have saved him the humiliation of having another girl born 10 months after the first daughter.
Please know that you are not alone in this issue and that all who post in this forum are sympathetic, understanding and know your pain.
From one unwanted daughter to another, you are worthy and deserving of LOVE and you are deserving of all the happiness and joy you will find once you are able to let go of the trauma that haunts you. If you have not read Darlene's book I highly recommend it. It will help you understand that YOU were not the problem. When I read "From Victim To Victory" it was almost like Darlene was telling MY life story and I felt validated....part of being the "Target Child" is that everyone wants to put the blame on YOU; from family to friends of family who do not want to deal with or acknowledge the fact that a child is being abused.
Stay strong and keep reading the posts from others to know that you are not alone.
Bless you!
