I can understand your feelings of hatred toward your family. You want to be treated with dignity and respect. You want your family to show you how much they love you, and they don't. And they sure don't show any love when either hitting or punching or standing idly by when someone like your mother does such things to you. You want to be trusted, not accused. You want a family who accepts you as you are, a soft place to land after a day of school bullying. You are filled with anger for not having all this in your family. And that puts you at risk for many other very difficult paths.

In your search for a "family", you are at risk for other forms of abuse. That's why it's important not to internalize all the messages you're getting from your family, especially from your mother.

Reach out to a school counsellor to help you, Riza. Or a member of your church, perhaps an elder or a trusted adult in your community. Contact a national hotline to talk to someone. Child Help at 1-800-4-A-CHILD (1-800-422-4453) is one. They are staffed 24/7 with professionally trained counsellors who will listen to you. They are not a reporting agency, although they can help you through the process of reporting if you decide to disclose the abuse. Visit their website by copying & pasting the following URL into your browser: http://www.childhelp.org/get_help

You deserve to be treated with dignity and respect and love, Riza. Start by treating yourself that way. Make the call. You're certainly worth it.

Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me. I send you love, light and healing energy.

Please tell someone

Riza, Darlene is totally right; please tell someone you really trust and keep telling until someone finally listens to you and starts helping you. No one should ever go through that.
