You are walking the path of healing and recovery; keep up the great work! For most who have endured child abuse, this path is a lifelong journey, with ups and downs and forks in the road. But when we always remember that we are worthy of dignity and respect and love, and then treat our Selves with that dignity and respect and love, then we move forward along the path. When we no longer see our Selves as victims, and rather see our Selves as survivors and thrivers, that's when the shift happens. And the shift is now happening for you. You said you've done a lot of work and reading. In case you haven't already read anything from Byron Katie, consider her work in Loving What Is. If you decide her method, keep an open mind, because doing so can bring about huge shifts. I send you love, light and healing energy, Tina. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.

Wow! I would like to commend you for your story. I've been in a similar situation and after reading your story, I am amazed on your strength. Thank you so much for giving me some insight on how to heal from my abusive situations, not only as a child but also as an adult. God Bless!!!!

Thank you for your encouraging comments. This thing is working for me. I have never felt so good in my life, and they just keep getting better. I realize I have been ignoring and supressing -quieting- these emotions for a long time. Staying busy helping others helped ignore them until I burned out, then a combination of four psychiatric drugs did the job for six years, but a poor one at that. I learned that what numbs the pain also numbs the pleasure. I am dealing with my emotions. I am loving myself and taking care of the girl inside that was hurt. I am loving it.I made myself go alone to do some things I like for a day. I felt so much love!!! I do not have to have anyone to meet my needs any longer. I made up my mind I was moving forward on my own and nothing would stop me. I will no tolerate people crossing the boundaries I am establishing to protect myself. I am not afraid of losing anything either. Give me freedom or give me death!!!
