I DO believe that forgiveness can indeed change everything. I also know that many who were abused aren't ready for such forgiveness because they mistakenly believe that forgiveness means they're saying that what happened was okay. You WERE ready, because you chose NOT to be like your father: a terribly wounded hate-filled man. You chose a path of true healing. By showing your father such kindness after he mistreated you SO badly, you brought about a shift in BOTH your lives; that is inspirational, Kris. Thank you so much for sharing your story with my visitors and me.

Your dad was out of control.

Kris, your dad had so many problems and, even though you said that he changed, he still needs help anyways. He should've known better and loved and cherished you. However, I am delighted that you are able to forgive him now, so you can move on.
