You're telling now, and that's what really matters. If we keep beating ourselves up for what we did and didn't do as children, it's at the expense of our ability to heal now. Please consider some form of counselling in order to help you deal with the repercussions of your father's abuse and the sexual abuse you endured at the hands of those neighbours. And you WERE sexually abused by them, Pam. Just because you went back to their place does not make it your fault. Just because you didn't tell does not make it your fault. Fault lies squarely on the shoulders of the offenders. Always remember that. The woman you told turned a blind eye. Don't turn a blind eye to your Self. Get the help you need. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.
