Your father is sick and twisted. He's trying to re-write history in order to give himself an excuse for the vile acts he committed. But you know the truth. He's a pedophile, Maddie. A sex offender of children. Chances are you are not the only victim. There are likely others. Sex offenders do not change their ways until someone speaks up and they are made to stop. Please consider telling someone you trust. And know that you are not to blame. He is to blame. He's the one with the shame to bear, not you. I can understand that you feel dirty, but this isn't your fault. This is all on him. He took advantage of your youth and your vulnerabilities, then used them against you in an effort to gain even more control and power. You can take back your power, Maddie. It starts with telling. If you're still a minor, please consider contacting Child Help at 1-800-4-A-CHILD (1-800-422-4453) in order to talk to someone about the abuse. They are staffed 24/7 with professionally trained counsellors who will listen to you. They are not a reporting agency, although they can help you through the process of reporting if you decide to disclose the abuse.
