While I can appreciate that you love your father, the fact is, he molested you, and that makes him a sex offender. It also means that other little girls are at risk for being molested; and if you don't accept that and understand sex offenders, you are likely to put a child of your own at risk. Yes, I appreciate that was addicted to drugs, but that's not an excuse. Please consider some form of counseling in order to help you process what actually happened to you. Clearly, you're still dealing with the repercussions. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.

Yes, you are a survivor.
by: Lucy

Kenna,

Yes, you are a survivor... a survivor of sexual abuse.

What happened was not right, and it concerns me greatly when you say, 'I am proud to know I have a man like my father in my life.' He is not a man to be proud of. A good man, a good father, does not molest any child, under any circumstance.

It is understandable that you may be 'a little more paranoid, angry, and self conscious than other girls'... but you do not have to accept this. You deserve better. In time, with therapy, it is possible to heal and to live a healthy, happy life.

Please take care of yourself, Kenna.

PS: For the record, I would blame him. He is the only one to be held responsible for his actions.
