Your boyfriend is not being a true friend by keeping your secret. A TRUE friend would tell and keep telling until you and your brother got the help you need. The longer you keep the secret, the more likelihood that your parents will serious harm one or both of you. Please contact one of the hotlines listed on my stories page, depending on where you live, in order to talk to someone confidentially. You ARE worthy! Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.

Your parents are out of control
by: Anonymous

Jessica, your parents have lots of problems and they need help...but you and your brother need help too, so the sooner you tell someone you trust, other than your boyfriend, the better. Darlene is right. Please tell someone (other than your boyfriend) such as a teacher, principal, church member, police officer, sympathetic relatives, even friends until they will help you.

Jessica...it's not your secret...
by: KT

it's THEIRS. They're the ones with issues, abusive personalities & creating shame in your brother.

PLEASE call a helpline - there are many listed on here. PLEASE get help for everyone's sakes. Your boyfriend is young like you, he doesn't know any better but to try and help & do as you asked. But as a person who's been there I can give the advice needed.... TELL.
Please tell until you're heard.

Be strong and call the number and get the help that you and your family needs. it will get better with help. you cant do it on your own, and dont feel like you have to. there are experienced professionals that understand what you are going through and can help you and your family, you are definatley not alone. it takes a lot of courage to tell personal life stories, dont keep this a secret. you are so awsome, and incredibly important!

you and your family will be in my prayers
