It takes a great deal MORE courage and strength to NOT act upon our urges under such circumstances. You are stronger than you realize. Much stronger.

You called yourself "damaged goods". I understand where you're coming from. But I also believe that even when we're "damaged" we can choose to heal. And among the first steps to beginning the healing process is the realization that you are worthy. Recognize that you are the one living in a prison. When we survive abuse, and then we don't live our lives to the fullest, we continue to give up our power to our abuser(s). We can choose to take that power back. When we make the choice to begin the healing process, when we decide that our abuser(s) no longer have power over us, that's when everything changes. You cannot change the past, and you cannot change how you feel. But when you change what you think you automatically change how you feel which automatically changes how you act. Do not let this abuser steal one more moment or one more second of your life. Take back your power. Be resolved to your healing. You survived the worst of it, Jeff. Now it's time to take back your life. I send you love, light and healing energy. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.
