First off, congratulations on recognizing the therapists you were seeing were not working for you. Even people in the field sometimes don't realize this because they are too close to the trauma they are trying to sort through. Often times, it gets in the way of judgment; but that didn't happen to you. As for being ashamed about what you did in your past...I too have done things as a younger woman I'm not proud of, but I do not let those decisions control me now because I am no longer the same woman. Not to mention that everything I've done is in the past, not in the Present moment, as I am experiencing life Now. I've learned that what I think NOW is the only thing I can choose. Everything else is out of my control. When I learned to let go of what I cannot control, everything changed. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.

Diana - I know how you feel. Just because it wasn't sexual abuse doesn't make it ok. You suffered tremendously, as no child should ever have to. Isn't it weird that people that have never been abused have a grading system for real abuse.

Love yourself, congratulate yourself for how far you have come. Be proud of all that you've accomplished!!

Gia!!
