You are likeable
by: Darlene Barriere

You have to believe that you are likeable, indeed, you are loveable, Brian. No matter what your brother and father say and do, you must believe that. The way your brother treated you was horrific. The way your parents didn't protect you and believe you when you were telling them of the horrendous abuse was neglect and emotional abuse. They have left you emotionally scarred. Sometimes the only way to deal with this type of situation is to completely remove yourself from it.

Sociopath!
by: Steph

Your brother exhibits symptoms of being a sociopath. Another name would be antisocial personality disorder. He will potentially be dangerous to anyone. Keep an eye on it. Too bad that your childhood had to be that way. So odd isn't it that parents do not intervene or believe these things??

None
by: Annie

This is just what my older brother did to me, and my dad. because i wasnt a boy they decided i wasnt good enough for them and even tried to kill me. When I was about 12 my dad raped me, and i ran away. My dad found me, took me home and beat me. Then later on my brother hit me with a baseball bat. I tried to end my life 4 times, but my brother stalked me, even when i was at the shop. I told my freind about it and she was really kind. she told her mom and they rang the police. My brother and father both got 6 years in prison and i now live with my Mom, who got in touch after she read my story in the newspaper.

I feel your pain
by: Francine

I understand what you went through and I'm so sorry about you and your family. You see, Brian, I went through the same thing as you did (in fact, my parents would let my brother beat me up).

You're not a liar; you are an honest and truthful person. You are also clever. If you still need help with how to deal with what you've gone through, try some counselling! Or maybe a psychologist or even a therapist.

A family is supposed to love and protect such people like you, but no way, they decided to stand by your brother! This isn't fair! If you're still mad at your parents, try calling them and ask them why they hated you, and then tell them that they should love and protect you!

I will pray for you all night cuz it's not your fault!

Part 2 of my story
by: Brian Hill

A few days ago I told my abuse story, but what I didn't say is that it's not always like that. Me, my brother and my dad do stuff together.

After my best friend died in 2002, I slipped into depression and I was put into a mental hospital. The whole time I was there, I only had one visitor, and that was my dad.

When I wrote my story, I made it seem like I had a bad life. That's not all true. Me and my dad sometimes get along, but not all the time. Every once in a while my brother and I get along. He has his moments when he is nice and mean.

Although I never had anyone to look up to when I was younger, my mom decided to put me into martial arts. I thought this would be a good way to stop my brother from molesting me again. 14 years went by. I got my 3rd degree black belt.

I do have to admit, there have been times where my dad has stuck up for me, but through most of my childhood, he was always on my brother's side. With him and my brother I always felt left out.

After reading peoples' stories, I have realized that my life is better than others'. There still are times were my brother and my dad emotionally abuse me. There is not much I can do about that. But all of this has made me realize that no matter how bad I think I have it, there are people who have it worse than I do. I have used my abuse experiences to help others who are going through the same thing.

11 years has gone by since my brother has last molested me. I now teach martial arts to kids who are having a rough time in life and who are being abused by someone. Some advice for the people that are going through what I did: Try to make the best of each situation. Don't let others stop you from achieving your goals. Things will get worse before they get better, but I promise you this, things will get better.

If you or someone you know is being abused speak up before it's to late.

I am a Chirstian...

I sorry, but these things really make me mad. It's not you. None of this is your fault. I have heavy compassion for you. Your brother was evil and it didn't help that your parents weren't there to comfort you or save you from the pain. I've never been abused by anyone and I thank God for that. I'll pray for you...

Brian, your brother is in dire need of some serious professional help. None of what happened is your fault. He sounds like a sociopath. As for your parents, I'm sure they abused him by grooming him to be anti-social to you.
