I understand your fear. I understand why you recanted what you knew to be the truth: that this man sexually abused you. What you must understand now is that it's not your job to ensure your mother is taken care of, and certainly, it's not right that it be at your expense. Your mother is about to marry a pedophile; she's got blinders on. Chances are he has and will continue to sexually abuse other children. You see, sex offenders do not change their ways until they are made to stop. This pedophile groomed you, Ala. He bought you things you wanted and he let you off the hook when grounded, which is what pedophiles do to groom their victims. He may not be abusing you right now, but there is every chance he will again. You ARE at risk. Please contact Kids Helpline in Canada at 1-800-668-6868. They are staffed with professionally trained counsellors who will help you with your options. You didn't deserve to be abused. You certainly deserve help for the fact that you were. I send you love, light and healing energy. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.
