The following child abuse story from Sara depicts sexual abuse and emotional abuse. The child abuse effects on Sara: self-harm in the form of cutting, promiscuity and low self-esteem.
I was first abused sexually by my cousin when I was 7 years old. He "loved" me, that's why he did it. At first, it was just touching, and then it led to sex. It went on until I was 9 years old, and then he confessed to it Now, today I'm 18 years old, about to finish high school. I cut myself because of the things that I feel inside. It seems like that's the only way to get it out. I am working on this as much as I can. I am a follower of Christ, but sometimes I don't understand how He can allow things so bad happen to good people. I look to guys for the "love" that I need. My boyfriend of 6 years . . . all he wants is sex, and I just give in every time. When I say no, he keeps going. I know I am not alone reading all of these stories. I am praying for each one of you. I hope one day I can be like some of y'all and get the help that I need! |
