The following child abuse story from Cindy depicts sexual abuse at the hands of her uncle. The child abuse effects on Cindy: Cindy did not share the effects the sexual abuse had on her.
I was sexually abused by my uncle, beginning at around age eight. At that time I didn't know it was called sexual abuse, all I knew was that I felt very uncomfortable. He would lay on top of me, and start grinding his full-force body on top of mine, and his face would get so red as he would carry on a regular conversation with me. Every time he kept me in my room alone, he would ask my brothers to leave us alone. My grandmother and mother, being ignorant to his evil craft, would leave me alone in my room with him. I try so hard to forgive him, but till today I still have trouble forgetting what he did to me. I am not quite sure if I have forgiven him yet. I am currently 22 years old. |
