Such a conundrum . . .
by: Darlene Barriere

What a determined and caring young woman you are, Sophie! You are doing the right thing by reporting the abuse. I understand your fear for their safety, and the frustration you feel at the system. One of the greatest challenges that face Social Services when looking into allegations of child abuse is when children are too afraid to tell, and there isn't enough evidence of abuse to do something about it unless the children do tell. What is truly sad is that these two boys have to overcome their fear in order to get the protection they deserve and have a right to.

I do have a number for the UK that I suggest you contact, Sophie. I cannot guarantee that you will have success with this number, but for the sake of these boys, try it. It sounds to me as though you are their best hope.

That's Terrible!
by: Amanda

What those boys have to endure is terrible! And social services not helping them; that's just not right. You're right; social services is there to protect kids and keep them out of danger! If they don't, tons of kid will die. I would keep complaining, over and over again, until somebody finally helped those boys. I hope someone helps them, in the end. And you, too.

Outraged

I agree with you 100%. I have a stepdaughter, who abused her son. I have custody of him because it was founded. She had to give me custody because the state was trying to take him and I stepped in and she gave me custody. He will be 5 years old now. She was told by her social worker not to have anymore until she get herself together. She has never got herself together as a matter of fact her situation is worse now, especially for the children.

Now she has had 2 more and they are with her. I have witnessed her abuse them, dropped them, and even emotional abuse. Everytime I witnessed her doing something to those children I always called CPS. They come and of course she lies. She is mentally and phyically not capable of caring for those children at all. I know for a fact that her boyfriend knows what she does and he allows it.

She is in a very abusive relationship. She has tried to kill herself several times. She is not steady and to me he is not either. She was label mental retarded at birth. So far Social Servies has done nothing to protect those children. They teach those children to curse. Her 2 years old daughter will curse you out in a minute. Now where do you think she learned that from. She doesn't go to school and she doesn't even know what she is saying. She just says what she hears. She good for calling someone a bitch. Which is what her boyfriend calls her. I feel so powerless.

P.S. Thanks for listening, I am so sorry, I just has to get it out!

i agree with you about social workers you tell them that a child is being abused but they did come down and had an interview with the child but then turn around and support the abuser by letting him be around kids again but under supervision im mad were pushing all our might to do something about this so it wont get dropped and certain ones are dropping his restrictions the abuser has been charged too i dont want the file to be put away
