My deepest condolences on the loss of your beloved grandson. Keep sharing his story. By doing so, you will be giving purpose to what he endured and his eventual demise. And while you're sharing his story with others, remember that though schools should all have programs that teach about abuse, such information must also be taught to parents so they in turn can raise their children to not fear telling. There is no one way to go about this. Everything is connected, including how children are disciplined. When we use physical discipline on children, we teach them to be afraid. When children are afraid, they simply don't tell. They are vulnerable and can easily be convinced that telling will get them into trouble. So when you do speak out, speak out about all that is acceptable in our society that teaches children they do not have control over their bodies (like making your child kiss someone they don't want to kiss, and yes, even spanking). Thank you for sharing your grandson's story with my visitors and me. I send you and your family love, light and healing energy, Renee.
