Very informative...
by: Darlene Barriere - Webmaster

Thank you, Peter, for sharing this disturbing but important information about child abuse and neglect with my visitors and me. I share in your hope that Congress reauthorizes CAPTA so that funding can be applied toward child abuse prevention across the USA. Every child deserves to live free from abuse and neglect. Every child.

Another disturbing report/More statistic's
by: maurice

We're still reeling from the Ryan Repoert here in Ireland. There is no end to it all as we have another Report ready to be released. The frightening statistic's from each state is disturbing. I would say it is the tip of the iceberg as survey's only interview so many 1000's to get a picture of the owverall statistic within any given state. So outside those intervieved are many hidden cases of abuse and neglect. so it is only right to say that 50% higher would be a surer figure. One child is one child too many to be abused/neglected but again I say Thankfully the greater percent of family unit's love and cherish their children. I am certain that is the fact in all the states of USA. irresepective of this survey/this report. We can still believe in Hunanity, We can still gain hope from the Christian Faith and the Faith's of all the many Religions of the World. God is Love and we who abide in God abide in Love and respect for one another. We must not rest on our laurels, we must, each one of us must spaek out and protect another child from abuse. Thank You Peter, Thank you Darlene for printing such reports.

LITTLE BOY IN TROUBLE AND NO ONE TO HELP
by: Anonymous

My step son is 7 years old and has been living with different kinds of abuse since he was little. From his mother taking from his father at a young age, watching a younger sibling die while knowing that he could be at his fathers house with his healthy sibling, but the mother won't allow it, to getting screamed at and punished for loving his other family, and now DHS has informed me and my spouse that he is being physically abused by his mother who openly admits to bruising him during her so called discipline. Although he has been mentally abused and physically abused by his mother the cops, the DHS dept. , and the courts are not doing anything to help this child into a better home. He deserves to live with a family, not with a mother who can't control herself while disciplining, lives off government funding, and brings home a new man every few months. A child being bruised is assault, they can't protect themselves and they can't trust anyone. What are we suppose to do.. just sit back and wait for another mother to kill their child because they can't control themselves????
