Child Discipline to Child Abuse

by Megan
(Location Undisclosed)

I'm doing a very intense report about discipline vs. abuse. In order to do the report, I'm interested in reading stories about what started as discipline but turned into abuse.

Copyright and stories...
by: Darlene Barriere - Webmaster

Megan, I must first make you aware of copyright law. The people who write their stories on this site retain the copyright to it, and as such, no one has permission to publish it anywhere else, whether that be on the Internet or elsewhere in print. That does not mean you cannot use the story as an example and paraphrase what was said, but it does mean that you cannot simply print the story and use it in your report. To do so would be against the law. The same goes for any of the information pages on this site.

Secondly, almost every single child abuse story on this site that depicts physical abuse started out as discipline, but either went too far, or the parent has the misconception that hurting their child is a form of discipline. I suggest you keep reading through the various stories on this site in order to find the information you are seeking. My sitemap page has an A - Z listing that will give you access to the hundreds of stories my visitors have contributed. You yourself will have to extrapolate the comparison you seek with regard to discipline vs child abuse.

I will also point you to my Abuse vs Discipline page for a comparison of the two. I suggest you read through the other multitude of information pages on this site in order to gain a better understanding of what constitutes child abuse.

Again, please be mindful of copyright law when putting your assignment together. I hope you do well on your report, but mostly, I hope you learn something valuable in the process of seeking the information.

Child Abuse Vs. Discipline

Thanks So Much ! Lets Hope I Get An A !

Note From Darlene: You're welcome, Megan. I too hope you get an A on this assignment. I also hope you gain a much better understanding of the epidemic that is child abuse, and then perhaps help find a way to curb or even stop it in its tracks. Good luck to you, dear.
