Child Abuse Story of Healing and Recovery From Tiffany1

by Tiffany
(Location Undisclosed)

I shared my child abuse story here a few months ago (archived at: Child Abuse Story From Tiffany1). I cannot say that I am at the end of my road to recovery (I am still in therapy) but I am taking a big step right now toward my own healing that I wanted to share with you and the visitors to this site. I am taking steps to move out of my house! I haven't let my mother know yet - I am still working out how I will tell her because she has been pretty verbally abusive. I certainly will need courage for this....

Thank you, Darlene for your advice - I am hoping it will be easier to heal when I am away from the situation. To all those in abusive situations, know that life gets better. It takes courage and time but everyone can heal.

I'm so proud of you!
by: Darlene Barriere - Webmaster

And you should be proud of yourself, Tiffany. Stay strong and stay in therapy; and yes, do get out of that house! Removing yourself from the abusive environment is paramount in the healing process. And as you gain even more strength, dealing with your mother will get easier, especially when there is some distance between you. And you're welcome, Tiffany. Thank YOU for sharing more of your story with my visitors and me.

Always believe in yourself, I'm the most important
by: maurice

Good on you Tiffany 1. Be brave, be storng for you right now, Let darlene's words be your strength and your courage to take this real and brave step for you right NOW. I'm the most impoortant person in this move not anyone else. I am doing this for me. Be sure, be safe, stay with your therapist, let your friends love and walk with you closely. Let them hug you and tell you, your the best, your great, etc. Build on which I hope by now you have worked at your empowering mirror image of yoursefl. I can, I will, I must. Hug yoursefl to bit from time to time in front of that mirror Tiffany 1. It's OK it give a feel good feeling each time you do it. I'm 63 years since the 5th. I love myself in the mirror. I'm the great and wonderful me in the mirror.
