You have a very positive attitude about what happened to you; I applaud and commend you for that. I would also like to address your dreams. As long as you continue to have those dreams, you'll continue to be haunted by what this woman did to you, and the betrayal by your father. Please consider seeking out some type of counselling in order to help you deal with what happened. Doing so could finally stop the dreams. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.

My heart goes out to you.
by: jennie

And i totally get what you are saying , and it's called karma, and yes things have a way of coming back to those who inflict such pain i too have been deeply hurt by those i was suppose to trust , and when it's our own flesh and blood that is what hurts the deepest, and in my situation it was my mother who betrayed me,whom i thought that i could trust , emotional pain is i guess a good thing in disguise, though emotional pain is very very sad and heart wrenching i know, but i suppose it can also be a good thing too, because it teaches us that we all have a choice we can choose to keep allowing people to use and abuse us and learn to put up with it or we can choose right when that first abuse happens to stand up and say no i will not allow this in my life, and to say enough is enough !! but with me personally i cannot forgive abuse and being abused and emotionally neglected as well as emotionally abused and the sad sad thing about it is that the abusers never really show that they are really sorry. but none of us deserve to be abused in any way shape or form. we are all human beings and deserve to be treated with love and respect and dignity. so as i said my friend my heart does go out to you.and yes karma will come back on those who hurt others just because they think that they can or have that right to hurt, not as far as karma is concerned they do not. please take comfort in knowing that everyone who has in some way been abused themselves know how and what you must be going through, and we all '' love you ''.

Thanks for sharing your story Wendy
by: Mac

So glad you realize that it's not your fault, & that you are no longer in that situation.
Keep going forward in your recovery journey into more joy, more peace, good stuff. Recovery is a lifetime journey , & the healing comes in time, along the way. Eventually, forgiveness will help set you free from the memories. We don't have to excuse, justify,or accept what was done to us, but in time we do need to forgive them, as they are hurting, sick, people, in need of help. Forgiveness frees us from the pain & intense anger of the trauma we've experienced. A good support group /therapist, EMDR Therapy, & other recovery tools can help bring your to a place of great courage & strength to where you can finally let yourself walk out of that trauma experience,& move forward into new & better experiences. Been there, doing that, & all has helped me on my recovery journey.Sharing your story also helps in your recovery, as well as helping others who've experienced child abuse. Proud of you! Keep us posted. Be easy/gentale on yourself & others. Trusting new experiences, others , the unknown /change, is difficult to do, but is necessary for complete healing. It'll come; you're on your way!
