I no longer answer questions for my visitors...not enough time in the day to do so. I suggest you check out some of the pages on my site here to find some of the answers you're looking for. My sitemap page is a good place to start. As for what you endured, I'm delighted that you are planning on seeking therapy. You're moving forward in your life right now, but what typically happens when we don't deal with the issues of our past is that they come back to haunt us. As you move through the various ages and stages of your life, you may well find your Self triggered in a way you didn't expect. I can't tell you how many people have come to me to say they thought a particular issue was over and done with in their lives, yet lo and behold, here it is, affecting them with a vengeance. It takes work to resolve our issues, work that is very much worth the effort. Stay positive about life, Rachelle, but don't do so at the expense of not allowing your Self to fully feel the emotions that the abuse left you with. Once you allow your Self to feel those emotions instead of burying them (burying them is pointless; they will continue to try to re-surface, but not before creating loads of dysfunction in your life) they'll be free to let you go. Work on your issues first, then possibly look at creating something more positive with your father. But get help doing it. I send you love, light and healing energy, Rachelle. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me. I wish you all the best in college and moving on with your life.
