No laughing matter...
by: Darlene Barriere - Webmaster

Pamela, the teachers that laughed at you and humiliated you were ignorant to the umpteenth degree. Teachers, indeed anyone, who mocks and/or belittles a person because that person is learning challenged has serious troubles of their own. They belittle others in order to make themselves feel more superior. People who do this are insecure, impatient and in need of professional help. It was bad enough when your peers mocked, belittled and bullied you; it was devastating that grow-ups—TEACHERS; the very people in charge of molding the precious minds of our most precious assets—would stoop to humiliating and bullying tactics against you, YOU, a child that should have been treasured. My heart goes out to you, Pamela. You didn't deserve to be dishonored. You deserved to be acknowledged for your achievements. You deserved to have special tutoring to aid you in your learning. Those despicable teachers have much to answer for.

But Pamela, it is not too late for you to carry on with your education. If you really and truly want to go to college, start checking them out. Find out what courses you need, then set about to enrolling in a school (night classes, perhaps) that will take your lessons seriously. Don't allow what happened to you as a child continue to stop you as an adult. Don't allow anyone to dissuade you from your goals. Let the ignorant ones laugh; just stick with your goals. You may be learning disabled, but you are NOT learning discontinued. You are strong and articulate and you have much to offer. Don't sell yourself short, and for goodness sake, don't let anyone else sell you short either!

As for the sexual abuse, don't for one second blame yourself. Whether or not you knew what was happening was wrong, you cannot apply adult values on choices you made and situations you were in as a child. It wasn't your fault, Pamela. It wasn't your fault.

Please consider entering into some form of counselling to help you deal with the emotional turmoil your childhood has had on you. You are worth getting ALL the help you need for yourself. Treat yourself better than anyone else ever has by seeking the services of a professional.

I sincerely wish you all the best.

I hate them all...for you
by: Francine

Pamela, I hate people who mock, bully or even laugh at you for no reason because you don't deserve to be bullied, hunny! And no, you are not stupid! You are not fat! You are not retarded; you are smart, articulate and beautiful...don't ever let anyone think otherwise! Your so-called teachers and your so-called peers should be held accountable for the rest of their miserable little unimportant lives because they are wrong to badger you and they all knew it! You can still graduate; you can still go to college; you can still get a nice job (no, not a bagger!); no matter what happens, you might want to keep looking to the brighter side and you might also want to try therapy, or you can tell yur parents, your grandparents, a church member or any other trusted adult cuz you are worth the help, sweetie. The only stupidity that I see comes from your teachers, your so-called counsellor and your peers.
