It hurts bad enough when one parent won't show you affection. It hurts doubly when both parents won't or can't show you they love you. It's almost unbearable when the parent you've felt sorry for turns around and minimizes what you're feeling. Both your parents are twisted, Michael. Both your parents are so stuck on what's going on with them that they can't see what it's doing to you., their precious son. In all likelihood, your mother is comparing what has happened to her in her past and with your father to what she perceives is happening in your life; of which she has no idea. You need someone to talk to. Please consider contacting Kids Helpline in Canada at 1-800-668-6868. They are staffed with professionally trained counsellors who will help you with your options. Visit their website by copying & pasting the following URL into your browser: http://www.kidshelpphone.ca/en/home.asp

You ARE worthy, Michael and you ARE loveable. Don't ever forget that, because it's the truth, no matter what your parents say or do, or don't say or do. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.
