Sometimes there comes a time when one must draw a line in the sand. I don't subscribe to the philosophy that parents have inalienable rights; rather, parents who refuse to stop crossing a line that should never be crossed must live with the consequences: no communication with their child, even if that child is now an adult. There may come a time when a relationship can be struck up again, but she would have to prove that she'd changed her abusive and manipulating ways. In the meantime, work on building your self-esteem, self-confidence, and on being a product member of society. Whether you recognize it or not, it's clear to me that you are a very strong young woman; and that will take you far in life. Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.
