Child Abuse Story From Kate

My step father started sexually abusing me in 1959. I was 4 years old and shared the same bed as my mother. While he was having sex with my mother he was touching me. I would pretend I was sleeping. My mother would also let him bath me. this went on for years. I don't remember school or friends only my fear of going to bed at night. I have 3 brothers who were also abused bullied and beat up. We were always scared. My life was ruined. I was never happy. My whole life I was depressed. I could never keep a relationship I'm alone. And I want to expose him. He's living a happy and healthy life. I want the world to know he took my life away and what he did. And there is so much more he did. I don't know if there any thing I could do legally. Why should he get away with this.

The reality is that at this time New York has a statute of limitations on historical child abuse. Unless the abuse occurred in a state or country that has no statute of limitations, you do not stand much of a chance of bringing him to justice. But even if you could bring him to justice, the truth is that it will do nothing to change what he did or the effects. Yes, you want him punished and to suffer, but there is no guarantee that he'll be convicted in a court of law, especially after all this time. You could disclose what happened to you openly, and hope that others will come forward as well. This may be the best option, because in all likelihood, he is still abusing little girls. It's possible that by exposing him for what he did to you, you will open the door for others who have been and may continue to be abused by him. But Kate, my greatest concern at this moment is for YOU. Please seek out some form of counselling in order to help you deal with the repercussions of what happened at the hands of this sick and twisted excuse of a man. You didn't deserve to be abused. You certainly deserve help for the fact that you were. I wish you all the best, Kate, and I thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.

The Horror

Kate, I can't believe that your mom would abandon you to the so-called care of that sick pervert of a father and allow him to molest and offend you and also even allow him to beat and berate your brothers 24/7...how dare she! Shame on her for running away from you and your brothers all the time instead of protecting you from that sick beast! I am also disgusted by the fact that she also willingly let him "bathe" you...I hate women who choose men over their own children because children should always come first. Her job as a mother is to protect you and your brothers and she abandoned it. The path that your parents chose was and still is inexcusable...and you're right; that sicko of a father must be stopped. Oh, and you are not to blame for their twisted behavior; they are to blame because they chose to offend you and abuse your brothers. You were the child; they were the adults; they had all the power and they just grossly misused it over you and your brothers, so please look into reporting him for offending you as well as reporting your uncaring mom for not protecting you.
