Child Abuse Story From Fallen Angel

by Fallen Angel
(Location Undisclosed)

When I was 9 years old I went to a family party at my aunt's house. We all stayed up really late, and as my mom had had a drink, she decided not to drive home but to spend the night there.

Everything was fine until about 1 a.m.

My uncle came in and told me to follow him. He took me to the basement and made me take my clothes of. He then asked me to sit certain ways while he took photos of me. He told me he was entering them in a special competition and that if I smiled enough and didn't cry I would win a special prize. He also told me not to tell anyone because my cousins would get jealous.

Stupidly, I believed him, and that's why this is my fault.

Later on he said that he'd have to examine me before he entered me into the competition, to check if I was good enough.

He started touching my flat chest and pushing his fingers inside me, and he told me that I had to do everything he said or he wouldn't enter the pictures.

He took put his penis and made me touch it and kiss it, but after that he turned nasty and told me I'd been a naughty girl and that I had to go to bed and never mention this again to anyone. So I haven't.

This is just the beginning of a story with a tragic end.

Not your fault, no matter WHAT you say...
by: Darlene Barriere - Webmaster

Fallen Angel, if you are still a minor, please consider contacting a hotline for where you live for help for your situation, even if it is no longer happening. You'll find them listed at the following URL: Child Abuse Hotlines If you are an adult, please consider some form of counselling to help you put what happened to you in perspective. You've told here, which is a giant first step; take the next step and tell someone who can actually help you.

Thank you for sharing your story with my visitors and me.

Angel, you have not fallen
by: Linda Settles

Those who let you down, the mother who failed to protect you has fallen down--and I hope she will rise again to face the terrible wrong she has done to you. The uncle who abused you has not "fallen down" but acted out of a terrible absence of character and possibly a horrendous addiction. An addiction to power, sex, violence, and perversion. All of these weaknesses are his, angel, they are not about you.

While taking responsibility for that which we have done is commendable--sharing the blame for that which others have done to us is wrong. For the victim of abuse a magic phrase is this:

It is not about me. It is not about you, honey. It is about the people in your family who failed to protect you and the others who deliberately harmed you.

Please know that what has been done to you is a crime. You have had the courage to speak out on this site, and I thank God for that. Now, it is time to take another step, and tell someone who has the power to help you. Family members often wear blinders of denial and helplessness, so it is best to tell a counselor or other trained helper. Call the hotline Darlene mentioned, or (if you are still in school) go to the school counselor and start with the words: I have been abused. Can you help me?

Please write us back on this site and let us know what happened to you. We will not forget you angel--and we know that you are wounded, but you have not fallen from the position of beauty, dignity, and grace that your creator designed in you. It is just obscured by the actions of others, actions that are not EVER the fault of the survivor. Never.

I will look for you to write again.
Linda

no tragic end
by: Anonymous

Your life doesn't have to have a tragic end. What happen to you was terrible, but you have the power in your hand right now, you hold the secrete in your possession and by sharing it with your mother and the authorities you can free yourself and other children who may be keeping the same secrete. Please write back, I would love to hear the rest of the story, without the tragic ending!
