Child Abuse Story From BJ

by BJ
(Texas, USA)

It was early Monday morning, and I was getting ready for school. I was already a little late, and my mother was screaming to hurry up. I told her I was done and was ready to walk to school, and she said, "Stupid little B****! How can you be ready? You haven't even made your bed!" Scared, I looked over into my bedroom and said, "Yes, I did Mom." She slapped me so hard and hit my nose and it started to bleed. "Stupid little B****! Are you talking back?!" She grabbed me by my pony tail and jerked me around and pulled out some of my hair. She tore the sheets off the bed and made me fix it again.

Then she got mad and said I looked liked a tramp who couldn't fix her hair right. She started to comb it with a very old brush that had hard pointy bristles. When she became frustrated with my hair, she hit my head with it until my scalp bled. I cried, but I was scared to defend myself. I was scared that it would only be worse, and that I would be disrespecting her if I did.

This happened when my mother and father were first separated. I was nine. My father told me that no matter what she did, she was my mother. I hoped it would get better, but it would only get worse.

Respect yes; abuse no!
by: Darlene Barriere - Webmaster

You shouldn't have to live this way, BJ. Your mother has some seriously dangerous anger problems that she is taking out on you. What your mother is doing is wrong on so many levels. And the fact that your father won't step up and protect you is appalling. You deserve to have parents who are loving and nurturing and supportive. You DO NOT deserve what is happening to you.

It is important to respect your parents, but respect is earned, not demanded. It's very difficult to respect someone who is battering and beating you. You should have the right to defend yourself from physical harm; that would be self-respect, as well as self-preservation.

I urge you to contact Child Help at 1-800-4-A-CHILD (1-800-422-4453) in order to talk to someone about the abuse your mother is inflicting on you. They are staffed 24/7 with professionally trained counsellors who will talk to you. They are not a reporting agency, although they can help you through the process of reporting if you decide to disclose the abuse. And I recommend that you DO disclose, BJ. You're worth getting help for yourself.

How Could She?!
by: Francine

What the hell?! How dare your hateful mother do such a sadistic thing like that to you! You are not stupid! You are not a bitch! You are a smart genius of a girl and a very beautiful one; just don't ever let anyone think otherwise! Your mother is wrong enough to insult and beat you up, even going as far into ripping out some of your hair without even caring at all, and she knew that (even by heart)! I love you so much, BJ, and you might want to try a lot of counselling. You might also want to call the police on your mother. The only stupidity that I see comes from your mother!

No wonder!
by: Anonymous

No wonder your dad divorced that horrible monster you called mom. She will get her karma. She's gonna be forced to live with that her whole entire evil little unimportant life! Awful woman!!!

By the way
by: Francine

By the way, BJ, my smart girl, are you still with your so-called mom now or are you in the different family? You deserve for her to say, "I am wrong. I am very, very wrong, and I apologize."
