Child Abuse in Foster Care

by Louise B
(Eastbourne, United Kingdom)

My son was abused mentally emotionally and even beaten by foster carers/adopters there dosent seem to be anywhere for him to talk about it as we hate social services they wont listen their house is full of more children now my son is 17 sleepwalks has symptoms of early onset bipolar disorder or/and adhd. he needs councilling for his anger problems. these people ARE NOT FIT to have children they are in it for the money they kick them out when they are 17/16 they make me sick my son is more damaged now than before i have always suffered depression and i got involved with a violent horrible man and before that an alcoholic who tried to sexually abuse my 8 year old daughter and broke my sons arm when he was 4. ive always loved my kids and feel so bad for the past. but the adopters with the cruelty they inflicted onto my son and their cruel twisted lies have ruined our future

Thank you for sharing your son's story with my visitors and me. While I can only offer you space on my site to share and vent, perhaps one of my visitors will be able to point you toward a resource that can offer help to your son.

Sorry about that
by: Anonymous

Louise, I have the same idiotic system in here; in fact, my so-called family abused me my whole life and no one even bothered to help me. I am sorry for you and your kids to go through that.

Please do not give up HOPE
by: maurice

Hi you are a sincere genuine MOTHER. DOn't Quit. Don't give up on yourself keep receiving help that is the surest way you can LOVE your children and your son. Your past was not nice for you. you seemed to have moved on from there. in a better place in yourself and in your life. You wanting proper care for your child (son) is a proof of that. There seems to be no fool prrof system to safeguard completely children who gave to fostered or put in care. There is a better scrutiny of Foster Families/homes/places. They are vetted by the relevant authorities. Your son was unlucky but please do not give up hope. You keep fighting for what you know is the best for him now to live his life to the full. Genuine foster homes are good for children and adolecents who need a safe place to grow up in. I am certain you know people who will help you. In you receiving the best of help for yourself you will get the good person to help your child. You are a good mother wanting the best for him. Your son is a 17 year old with a deffinite mind of his own. help him to value and respect himself, to care and love himself. to stay out of trouble etc. To make friends who will value and respect him. Help and encourage him to have a healthy mind in a healthy body. Encourage him to take part in team sports. He'll make real friends there. lokeminded healthy minded teemagers. You are a good mother. Stay safe, love yourself, move on and don't keep looking back. Let go. LIVE WELL: Laugh alot: LOVE MUCH.
