I'm delighted that this site has helped you with your project, but mostly, how it has helped you grow as a person. When we don't live such lives as those described here on this site, it's easy to lack the understanding of what the child victims live through physically and emotionally. When we understand more, we can do more in the area of prevention and intervention. When we get a clearer picture, we can often be moved to make a difference in the world. You're such a person, Kelli. The world needs people like you. Keep making the world a better place and do what you can to make changes where changes are necessary. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with my visitors and me. I send you love and light.

good word
by: Scott 1

Thanks for the good words, you have wisdom beyond your years. Its nice to hear someone wish me better and pray for me.

I dont know if you have read my story but its one of school physical abuse and sadly it was accepted back in my day. Im edging toward the big 5..0.. and I like others on here dont forget what happened. We struggle to forgive. Forgiving is for our own sanity. But does that mean we let them go free for what theyve done? I hope their guilt is eating them alive. But I feel there are few that have such guilt.

Im one of the "lucky" ones, I was only spanked.

Your a special one.........

Hi Kelli, Your a very rare person let me say that up front. I am 79 years of age and have read over 3000 stories of abuse in all its forms. I published my story on this web site a while ago. I suffered severe physical and mental abuse inflicted by my own parents. I have a severe case of PTSD and lived a very angry life because of what I had to endure starting just before the first grade. I find it almost unimaginable how an adult can traumatize a very young child who is so utterly defenseless. From my perspective the systems that are supposed to protect children have made very little progress in the last 3 or 4 decades. When I was a child I knew running away would only end up in there bringing me back and my father would for sure have beaten me to death, he came close to it a number of times and for little or no reason. Today he would have been put in jail but not then. The government in all its various forms have in my opinion done very little to protect children from abuse. I feel there should be a topic or subject for every child starting in the first grade that teaches children how to protect themselves from the various forms of abuse they can be subjected to later in life starting in the first grade. It should be guaranteed not simply something nice to do or that we should do. There should be a civilian run agency with mandated authority over all the other systems of government whose only function is to protect children from abuse. It should be staffed by professional people who have demonstrated interest to protect children with the authority to remove children in harms way and with the ability to place the children in a safe place. The children need to play a more active role in deciding with whom and for how long the stay with care givers. The court systems and state run organizations have been responsible for this care so far and in my opinion done a miserable job of caring for children.
Kelli your a remarkable person and will be responsible for positive changes in what happens to abused children in our future that I am sure of. Your one of a kind, there are not many like you.
Thank you for listening to me.
