Scars of a battle won...
by: Darlene Barriere - Webmaster

The sad truth of it is, Linda, that even with laws to protect children, millions worldwide continue to be violently abused every day. Many die at the hands of their abusers.

Thank you for sharing what happened to you. Perhaps you can find the haunting is lessened if you shift the way in which you look at it: that you were amazingly resilient to have survived such a brutal attack and that you have the scar to prove it. HE was the twisted one; you were perfect the way you were.

You are strong
by: Linda Settles

I am amazed by the strength and resiliance demonstrated by abuse survivors. I admire your gentle spirit and compassion for others.

You are right, Linda, that the scars of abuse do not disappear--ever. But they can become a daily reminder that we, as survivors, have overcome difficulties and suffering--and lived to triumph over it.

You have a story to tell and encouragement to offer to others. Thanks for sharing.

A Wonderful Mom
by: Gina

I just wanted to say thank you to my mom Linda DiFazio for being such a caring and compassionate mother. After the horror that you went through as a baby, it is amazing the woman and mother that you became. Never once did you raise a hand to any of us (although sometimes we definately would have deserved it) you were always there through our good times and bad. I am proud of you for coming on here and telling your story, I know that it wasn't easy for you. I love you very much and I am glad that you are my mother and made me the woman and mother that I am today. Stay strong and remember the past is gone, you have a great future with your family and grandchildren! I love you!
