Your quest to end your suffering...
by: Darlene Barriere - Webmaster

Charles, I'm very sorry such heinous acts were committed against you. You certainly didn't deserve any of that kind of suffering.

This post is to address your statement: "I sought medical and psychological help that seemed to end in a deeper mental stress and pain." This tells me that your counselling sessions were not yet complete. A therapist's job is to help you to come to terms with what happened to you, AND to give you tools on how to deal with your emotions when they surface. If you didn't get that kind of help, I suggest you find another counsellor.

I also suggest you read a post I made on this site to Andy, a 35-year-old male, at Comments and Ratings for Need help trying to figure myself out. You may find my comments helpful.

I wish you all the best in your quest to end your suffering, Charles.

want it to end (moved from Ask Darlene submission)

do you know of any places that can help w the physical scares of the abuse. every step i take is a reminder of the rape i suffered. I had a pilonidal abcess repaired now i cant seem to walk without a noticeable limp in my steps. i dont know if plastic surgery is an option but i am desperate to fix my posture and the way i walk. i dont even go outside if i dont have to and hurry home to be away from derogitory comments. People think im gay and no woman will take me serious because people would rather think your gay than beleive you were a victim of rape. please any advice or point me in the right direction.

Charles, I answered this question for you in this thread last month. I'm sorry, I cannot help you. While I sympathize with your plight, I can only suggest you use the various search engines with specific keywords to help you find what you are looking for.

I sincerely wish you all the best.
