Can I interview you?

I'm an 8th-grader at a middle school in California. Right now, I'm doing a very big project on a subject of our choosing, and I specifically chose child abuse. Part of my project is to interview 2 people that are experienced or experts at my topic. You're the perfect person to interview, and I was wondering if I can interview you. If not, do you know anybody else I can interview? Please contact me (if you can) if I am able to do my interview.

Vicky, while I am always honoured when students ask me for an interview, I am not in a position to say yes. I receive many interview requests; there aren't enough hours in the day to make myself available.

If you are prepared to search through my site, you'll find loads of information and statistical data on the subject of child abuse. Note that all stats are referenced. The navigation bar on the left or my sitemap page provides links to information pages. All I ask is that you be aware of and observe copyright laws.

As for another possible candidate, consider a Court Appointed Child Advocate. A Google search for the keyword phrase "California child advocates" yielded the following URL: http://www.californiacasa.org/ At the bottom of their webpage, you'll find a contact email address. I suggest you get in touch with them for a possible interviewee.

Also, consider a face-to-face interview with someone who has experienced child abuse first-hand, preferably an adult. If you've read any of the child abuse stories on my site, I'm sure you would agree that survivors of child abuse can offer a great deal of information about the effects the abuse had on them.
